Bag for Amber

Posted by on December 16, 2010 in Words |

I accepted a commission to make a bag for a friends birthday recently. Using a soviet military map bag as a reference, I finally got through it today. It was my first bag. I learnt a lot.

The bag has space for your phone, pens, a strap in notebook and two expandable pockets. I used an oiled leather which should age nicely and a canvas interior. Will fit an iPad snugly.

  1. oh awesome, james!! that looks really cool.

  2. This bag is so friggin amazing and I’m not just saying that because I own it. I’m getting a bajillion compliments about it, thank you kindly good sir. I’m also glad Neil Jeffs is getting a pair of shoes made, Tom and I suggested he come and check you out!

  3. Though one question… what type of leather is it? Several people have asked and I have no clue.

  4. Hello Mr. Roberts.
This might be one of the most fantastic bags I have ever seen. What would be the cost of you making something in this style again?
    Best Regards.

  5. Ev: thanks!

Daniel: I am not currently taking orders for bags, or shoes. I am taking a break to get on top of my shoe queue and hope to restructure my range to include bags and accessories in the new year. Please keep an eye on the website for further news.

Amber: The leather is an oiled cow hide called ‘Padro’. I believe it is tanned locally but I can’t remember exactly where.
