At our Kyneton workshop, located 1 hour north of Melbourne we offer beginners and advanced shoemaking courses.
Beginner courses run for 5 days and all courses can be booked in via phone/email for consecutive days or over a series of weeks.
In our beginners course we cover measuring feet, fitting a last, design, pattern making, cutting, sewing, lasting and finishing a cemented shoe. Many styles of shoe or boot are available to make including a lace up derby shoe, an elastic-sided boot or a t-bar sandal. There are many options to customise the basic design to how you like. Please click here for some pictures of previous students work.
Advanced courses cover different shoe construction styles and require you to have completed the beginners course or have other shoemaking experience. Theses courses are custom designed for your exact needs and running times and prices vary.
All courses are currently run one on one with shoemaker James Roberts at 10 Piper St, Kyneton.
The cost for the beginner course is $2200 and includes all materials. Classes run all the time but fill up fast. Contact James via the contact form here, for further information.
