Over a month since my last post, I’ve been quite busy! The cafe at Captains of Industry has been pretty much handed over to the new manager and although there are times I need to help out and do back end stuff, I am as close as I am going to get to being a full time shoemaker.
I’ll put some photos up of the recently completed shoes soon. I just wanted to mention some of the other work I’ve been doing since the last post. I’ve been developing a new made to measure range to launch next year. This will include about three or four different styles that will be made to limited measurements in three different browns and a black. This M2M range will be at a lower price point and can’t accomodate the full bespoke service I am doing now but I’ll still offer that service at a premium price. I’ve also been talking to a few lads to take on as helpers/apprentices and in my spare time dabbling in some leather accessories.
Below is a wallet made from one piece of veg tan kangaroo leather, hand dyed dark brown, and hand stitched with waxed 5-cord linen thread. I also have a pocket book and belts for sale. Details on those coming soon.
