Full Brogue Boot in Hand-dyed Roo

Posted by on November 26, 2013 in Words | 1 comment

These full brogue boots were for an exhibition at Victoria’s National Gallery, “Melbourne Now”.

They are constructed using a norwegian welt and have a chain stitch around the heel.

Anthony Delos was a big inspiration for the construction of these.

Hand-dyed, thick Roo leather was used with calf linings. Punching out the brogues by hand took some time.

  1. Hey Theo, love the Norwegian welt on the boots.
Looks very stylish. Just got Tim Skyrmes book here in Canada.
Looking to try to make a boot. How did you pattern the linings?
The Roo looks nice also. Any tips in sourcing and finishing Roo?
Keep the good work going. Helps to inspire us all!
